Kevin Williamson deserves a 10.0 execution score for his masterfully?trolling?National Review?essay?arguing that Mitt Romney should play up how rich he is because women like to have sex with rich men.?However, on difficulty, this troll trick is worth a mere 5.0. It's so easy to upset liberals by writing that Republicans are manly, money measures a soul's worth, women are stupid, and daughters are undesirable -- not to mention fundamentally misinterpreting the original intent of the Andy Samberg Saturday Night Live?song, "Like a Boss." (Williamson wants Romney to act more like a boss, not understanding that the Samberg music video showed a pathetic man in a suit engaging in several acts of desperation, including pooping on a subordinate's desk.) Here is one of Williamson's trolliest passages, on why Romney is more desirable because he sired five sons:
Professor Obama? Two daughters. May as well give the guy a cardigan. And fallopian tubes.
From an evolutionary point of view, Mitt Romney should get 100 percent of the female vote.?All of it. He should get Michelle Obama?s vote.
Evolutionary psychology is the phrenology of our time. Aside from that, what's remarkable about this post is the media's ongoing fascination with Romney's sex life. The entire Republican primary was described in a way that made the whole thing seem like a long game of "F-, Marry, Kill." The consensus that voters would "F" Rick Perry, but "Marry" Romney ("At some point, you stop flirting with the candidate you want and you marry the president you need," as one pundit put it), and, sadly, "Kill" poor old Newt Gingrich ("NEWT DEATH WATCH, DAY 47.") Williamson wants the conventional wisdom to move Romney back into the "F" category.
